Disclaimer - if you can read my home page without having to scroll across the bottom at all, there is no need to change the page if you are happy with how it is viewed at this time! These settings in NO WAY will create or cause problems with your computer and no negative effect will occur as a result of this change! It can all ways be returned to its original setting at any time.
Please make sure that the other computer users in your home or otherwise are ok or allowed to change the screen setting before you do so. Best of luck and please call me if you have any questions in completing these steps. Different operating systems may have different tabs or tab names so you will have to take note for this. Mine are as follows:
- click on start
- go to settings
- click/choose control panel
- double click on display
- click on the settings tab at the top
- look for the screen settings at the bottom and change the setting to 1024 x 768
- it will ask you if you want to change the settings without rebooting, or it MIGHT ask you to reboot for the changes to take effect. if you have time to reboot, it will change it and leave it for you. if not, change without reboot.
- choose yes to reset the screen, or reboot and reset screen (either is fine)
- return to the web site and continue to view without having to scroll across the bottom - hope this helped
These directions will make your icons on the desktop smaller and more clear. It will appear that your icons on the right side of the screen your desktop have moved left unless you have them to auto adjust. It will make your programs appear smaller in size due to the adjustment as well (but not too small - I personally prefer them this way as I can see more of my work at this setting) yet has NO OTHER EFFECT on them. It WILL NOT mess up your computer, only make things appear a little smaller. Other pages that you have to scroll across to read on a regular basis will most likely be able to be read now without scrolling. To reverse these directions... follow the same one's above except you should move the setting back from 1024 x 768 to 800 x 600 or whatever your original setting is/was.
If I can program the site to read your computers settings when it loads and adjust to it, I will... that is programming and is above my computer comprehension at this time. I will, however, look into it.
Lastly, this page is best viewed using Internet Explorer. As the program I am using is a Microsoft product, it somehow doesn't like to be opened in Netscape Navigator or other programs (Mozilla, etc.) If you have and can use Internet Explorer, you will be able to view the site as it was intended/designed. Thanks for viewing and thanks for your inputs. This project was/is fun and I am hoping that you will continue to enjoy it ~ Coach Q
